Dr. Linnea Zimmerman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Family and Reproductive Health. She studies fertility and contraceptive use in low- and middle-income countries via population based surveys. She is the US based PI of the PMA Ethiopia grant.

Dr. Solomon, an Associate Professor at Addis Ababa University’s School of Public Health, leads research in reproductive, maternal, and child health. He is the principal investigator for the Performance Monitoring for Action (PMA) Ethiopia project. Dr Solomon earned his MD from the University of Gondar, an MPH from Addis Ababa University, and a PhD from Maastricht University, The Netherlands.

Jessica Dozier
President’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow,

Dr. Dozier is a passionate public health researcher committed to advancing reproductive justice and addressing gender-based violence. As the President’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Systems, Populations and Leadership at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, her work examines intimate partner violence and partner control over contraceptive use, pregnancy, and abortion in the United States and sub-Saharan Africa. She is also actively engaged in testing strategies to address reproductive coercion in family planning and maternal health settings. Dr. Dozier earned her PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2024, where her dissertation work leveraged PMA Ethiopia data to examine relationships between reproductive coercion and postpartum outcomes. She has presented this work at leading conferences, including the Population Association of America Annual Meeting and the International Conference of Family Planning, contributing to global conversations on women’s reproductive autonomy.

Assefa Seme

Dr. Assefa SEME is an Associate Professor at Addis Ababa University’s School of Public Health, specializing in Reproductive Health, with a particular focus on adolescent reproductive health. Since 2014, he has co-led Performance Monitoring for Action Ethiopia (PMA), a major initiative dedicated to generating high-quality data to inform reproductive health policies and programs.
In addition to his role with PMA, Dr. Assefa has served as the Principal Investigator for the “Family, Health and Wealth” study, exploring the relationships between family well-being, health outcomes, and economic stability. His research and leadership have contributed significantly to advancing evidence-based interventions in reproductive health. Dr. Assefa holds both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Addis Ababa University.
