Delivering on-demand digital FP & SRHR content
Family Planning News Network
Designed to increase the volume of local and regional news on reproductive health topics, the Family Planning News Network (FPNN) provides the platform, the support and a extensive audience to seasoned and emerging newsmakers to report on stories that are at the nexus of reproductive health and other international development disciplines, including climate, economic development, population and more. FPNN content—targeted at both in-person and virtual audiences—includes written news articles, live interviews, opinion pieces, panel discussions, in-the-field storytelling, and live event report-outs.
An engaged, informed and connected network of journalists, influencers, and content creators committed to reporting on the power of family planning
The ICFP Community came together from across the globe at ICFP2022 to create community-powered & produced live content that speaks to the heart of the family planning community.
The ICFP Secretariat took this opportunity to develop a new platform approach to digital news, content creation, and community partnerships, known as the Family Planning News Network (FPNN). FPNN leverages a diverse group of newsmakers including journalists, youth trailblazer reporters and members of the FP community to create multimedia content that is disseminated through social media channels and other online platforms.
FPNN is designed to support youth reporters and established journalists who are engaged in localized, regional media advocacy efforts on topics related to reproductive health and family planning. These efforts aim to increase awareness and support for family planning among communities and policymakers, particularly in underserved areas where access to information and resources may be limited. The network has access to fellowship opportunities, reporting trips, targeted trainings, sector reports, and an engaged audience of over 40,000 individuals.
Through partnerships with local media outlets and our partner organizations, FPNN will work to amplify the voices of individuals and communities impacted by family planning issues, and to highlight the importance of reproductive health and rights as a key component of overall health and wellbeing.
