Rosemary Komolafe, MD, is a Physician and Current Dean’s Scholar at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH), with a focus on Maternal and Child Health. She is dedicated to addressing the intersectional causes of high maternal mortality and implementing strategies to reduce these rates in marginalized communities within low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
At the Gates Institute, Rosemary leverages her experience in strategic communication and resource mobilization to build meaningful relationships with sponsors while supporting the sub-committees responsible for the success of the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP). She designs qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, focusing on stakeholder feedback and measuring the impact of the Gates Institute's family planning programs.
Rosemary combines her clinical background with storytelling and research to address healthcare disparities and advocate for equitable policies. Drawing on her personal experiences growing up in Nigeria, she is committed to advancing gender equity and improving health outcomes for women and children.
With her unique blend of clinical practice, public health expertise, and creative communication skills, Rosemary envisions a world where every woman has access to quality reproductive health care and the resources to thrive. Her work reflects a deep commitment to creating sustainable, inclusive solutions that address the health challenges faced by underserved populations.
