Program Officer, Monitoring & Evaluation

Jessica Mirano is a Master of Public Health graduate from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she earned certificates in biostatistics and epidemiology, and in adolescent health. As part of her program, she interned with UNICEF Belize to provide technical support in setting up a national school-based menstrual health survey.

Prior to graduate school, she worked for four years as an HIV Surveillance Officer with the Epidemiology Bureau of the Philippine Department of Health. In this capacity, she led the national HIV prevalence survey covering 35 cities – from protocol development to data analysis and reporting. She also supported the country in developing national M&E plans and grants, modelling population size estimates, and monitoring the national HIV grant from The Global Fund. Following this, she worked with UNICEF Philippines for one year as an M&E Consultant in the Adolescent Development and Participation unit. In this role, she developed the M&E framework and monitoring systems for the UNICEF HIV service delivery model for adolescents in supported cities.

As the TCI M&E Program Officer, Jessica supports the team in establishing monitoring systems, analyzing data from each of the four regional hubs, and preparing reports and presentations for partners.
