Beginning in July, 2010, the Uganda Family Planning Consortium (UFPC), with Advance Family Planning (AFP), collaborated on an advocacy intervention to influence the Country Coordination Mechanism (CCM) of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to include funding for family planning commodities in the Round 10 Proposal for Uganda. As a result of this intervention the approved proposal includes $8.7 million which has been allocated to procurement of family planning commodities.
