Join Us for Art for Advocacy at UNGA 2024: Amplifying Youth Voices through Art and Storytelling

Sep 17, 2024

The William H. Gates Sr. Institute is thrilled to invite you to Art for Advocacy on Saturday 21 September 2024 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM EDT during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This dynamic event, hosted by the AYSRHR Global Roadmap for Action (GRA), will leverage art and storytelling to build trust in adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights (AYSRHR) interventions. It is a must-attend for youth-led organizations passionate about sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Why You Should Attend:

The idea for this event came to life after a powerful panel discussion at UNGA 2022, during which youth leaders raised key issues around funding, equity, and building trust in partnerships. One critical takeaway from the conversation was that building trust with communities is vital to ensuring the success of any AYSRHR intervention.

Art for Advocacy will explore how art and storytelling can bridge the gap between implementers and communities, with the aim of creating more effective and culturally resonant AYSRHR programs. By recognizing and incorporating cultural contexts and frameworks, we can foster stronger relationships and drive impactful outcomes.

Event Highlights:

  • Youth Leadership: Hear from youth advocates on how they’ve used art to communicate critical health messages.
  • Storytelling for Change: Discover how storytelling can empower communities and ensure inclusivity in AYSRHR programs.
  • Building Trust: Learn strategies to build trust and equity in youth-led interventions.

This is an incredible opportunity to engage with global youth leaders and advocates in the fields of sexual and reproductive health, global health, and art for social change.
