Demographic Dividend Luminaries Series

Featuring:

David Canning, PhD
Richard Saltonstall Professor of Population Sciences and
Professor of Economics and International Health,
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Hosted by the Gates Institute, the Demographic Dividend Initiative, and the 2022 International Conference on Family Planning, the new DD Luminaries Series intends to highlight exceptional work that has expanded our understanding of the DD.

This inaugural session will feature the work conducted by the economist and early pioneer of DD research Dr. David Canning, who coined the term “demographic dividend” along with fellow Harvard economist David Bloom.

Join us for a conversation and Q&A with David on the history and future of DD work, including discussions on fertility rates, population structures, economic development, and more.
