Natalie Apcar

Advocacy and Communications Manager

Natalie is the Advocacy and Communications Manager at WHGI, where she leads the development of high-impact storytelling, strategic communications, and community engagement initiatives to elevate the voices of key stakeholders in family planning (FP) and reproductive health (RH). With over a decade of international development experience, including six years in global health with Johns Hopkins affiliates, Natalie brings an expertise in advancing programs through innovative knowledge management (KM) and strategic communication approaches.

Natalie has used design thinking and behavioral economics approaches to facilitate knowledge exchange and create diverse multimedia content—such as podcasts, videos, and other knowledge products—to improve learning for global health professionals and equip them with actionable tools to use in their work. A champion for gender integration and equity, she co-developed an equity checklist to ensure KM interventions address the needs of marginalized audiences and reduce barriers to accessing, sharing, and using knowledge.

Natalie holds a Master’s in Gender, Development, and Globalization from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s in International Development from American University. In her free time, Natalie volunteers with social justice organizations in Baltimore and enjoys spending time outside with her cattle dog-hound mix.
