Celia Karp, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Senior Technical Advisor at the William H. Gates Institute. Her work focuses on reproductive health preferences, services, and outcomes. She is particularly interested in improving measurement of psychosocial determinants of reproductive health, such as pregnancy preferences, reproductive empowerment, and contraceptive decision-making, as well as examining the systems that shape women’s health and access to high-quality reproductive services. Through her mixed-methods research, Dr. Karp aims to advance understanding of the psychosocial and structural drivers of sexual and reproductive health inequities and identify pathways to address them.
