Professor
Saifuddin Ahmed, MBBS, PhD, is a Professor at the Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health, with a joint appointment in the Department of Biostatistics. His research interests include improving estimates of maternal mortality and morbidity in resource-poor settings, family planning modeling, and survey design and intervention evaluation. He served as a technical advisor to the World Health Organization for maternal mortality estimation at global and national levels from 2007 to 2017. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers in leading scientific journals, such as The Lancet, The Lancet Global Health, BMJ Global Health, and American Journal of Public Health, collectively garnering more than 16,000 citations.
